Detective and Uniform Superintendent Process - Applications close Sunday 29th August 2021 at 11.55pm.

Lancashire Constabulary are looking to recruit into current and projected Superintendent vacancies, across both uniform and detective portfolios. Applications are invited from substantive Chief Inspectors looking for promotion to the rank of Superintendent and Superintendents looking for a side-ways move. Application Process

Chief Constable Rowley would like to invite all interested candidates to attend a briefing on Wednesday 25th August 2021, 8.00am to 9.00am at Lancashire Constabulary, Headquarters. There will be teams capability for those who are unable to attend in person. The paper sift of all submitted application forms will take place Tuesday 31st August 2021, all candidates will be notified via the on-lie recruitment portal of the outcome. Successful candidates will be invited to undertake a presentation and interview, which will be conducted week commencing 13 September 2021. Candidates will be emailed the presentation topic at least one week in advance of their interview date.

Candidates will be assessed against level 3 Competency Values Framework (CVF) throughout this process (application form, presentation, and interview).

Qualifications

Applications for Uniform posts are particularly welcome from underrepresented groups. Applicants without a Silver POPS accreditation will need to commit to become accredited within an agreed timescale.

Those applicants wishing to apply for the role of Detective Superintendent must be PIP2 qualified (minimum), and have successfully completed the Management of Serious Crime Investigations Development Programme (MSCIDP. Successful candidates who are not currently PIP3 will be expected to work towards the qualification whist in post.

Lancashire Constabulary have secured a place on the forthcoming Authorising Officer (AO) Course, which takes place in Ryton from Monday 20th September through to Tuesday 28 September 2021 (excluding the weekend). It is a pre-requisite that candidates interested in the AO role are committed and available to attend on the dates detailed.
