We are searching for an innovative and forward-thinking Chief Operating Officer to lead and deliver outstanding support functions that are critical to the effectiveness and delivery of services for the Constabulary.
Responsible to the Deputy Chief Constable, the Chief Operating Officer will provide inspirational leadership for developing and delivering the following professional organisational departments;
- Finance and Business support
- HR, Workforce Planning and Learning & Development
- Estate and buildings
- Information Management
- ICT
- Vehicle fleet
This is your opportunity to drive the strategic direction of the force as a key member of the Chief Officer Group. You will be a champion of organisational change, deliver improved results to increase productivity and efficiency and ultimately provide inspirational leadership and direction to the workforce, modelling the values and behaviours set out in the College of Policing’s Code of Ethics.
We are openminded on your professional background, and value your proven track record and expertise in developing and implementing direction and strategy. In our aim to deliver the highest standards of service to the public of Lancashire with the resources available, you will provide strategic leadership for and take ownership of force budgets, financial planning, and reporting.
Based at Hutton Headquarters near Preston, Lancashire this role is full time with flexible hours available. There will be some travel throughout the county, North West and nationally expected as part of this role. • Provide expert advice, guidance and support to the Chief Officer Team.
• Drive an effective and efficient service provision across the Force for all support functions by fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
• Determine appropriate response and actions to national and regional initiatives.
• Ensure that risks to the Force which may affect its ability to provide business as usual now or in the future are identified and escalated in line with risk management principles.
• Inspire others by leading positive cultural change across the workforce and be a role model for staff regarding diversity, equality, and inclusion.
• Promote and provide coaching and mentoring to support colleagues as required.
• Represent the force on a national and regional basis.
