The positive work of the Special Constabulary within our communities is invaluable and when recruiting for the Special Constabulary we aim to ensure that we appoint individuals from different backgrounds to reflect the communities we serve. The Equality Act 2010 allows us to promote equality within Lancashire Constabulary and adopt Positive Action to support people from under-represented groups to take advantage of this opportunity.
YOU can make the difference. YOU can not only help our amazing diverse communities but you can influence and shape how policing looks now and in the future.
If you feel you have the skills required to be a Special Constable, we can help and support you through the process. Together we can break down barriers and build an inclusive workforce. We offer support (Positive Action) for underrepresented groups (black and minority ethnicities) by providing advice and guidance before and during the selection process. Please contact the Workforce Representation Team if you are eligible for guidance: Email: workforcerep@lancashire.police.uk
If you wish to apply please complete and submit the application form.
As part of the recruitment process you will be required to undertake the College of Policing National Sift (Assessment) – the dates for this are 9TH - 16TH October - further details will be sent after the closing date.
Whilst we will endeavour to accommodate your preferred location to be posted as a Special Constable, this cannot always be guaranteed.
Before you complete the online application, we would advise you to read the attached Guidance Notes.
We are looking for a commitment for those who join as a special to give at least 12 months service, due to the training involved and time invested.
THE CLOSING DATE FOR THIS VACANCY IS MONDAY 2ND OCTOBER 2023 AT 23:55.
