We have vacancies for Police Community Support Officers across all areas of Lancashire. For details of our Policing areas, please go to www.lancashire.police.uk/your-area

The posts are full time permanent although part time and flexible working arrangements will be considered following completion of training.

Lancashire Constabulary is committed to local community neighbourhood policing and the Police Community Support Officer is at the heart of this commitment. Police Community Support Officers are part of their local Neighbourhood Policing team, working with partners and the community to reduce crime, the fear of crime and preventing vulnerability.

The role is a uniformed one and comes with designated powers, but most importantly Police Community Support Officers are expected to engage with their communities, problem solve in their communities and target the biggest local problems. They also to respond to calls for service within communities. Often they are the local face of policing on their patch.

We believe it is really important for our police force to be part of the community and reflect the wonderfully diverse communities we have in Lancashire therefore we really welcome applications from those communities who are underrepresented within the force.

We are keen to recruit people who are able to demonstrate excellent communication skills, can adapt to changing situations, and have a positive attitude to the work that they do, in order to help us deliver this service.

If you think you have the desire to contribute to your local community as part of the policing team, this could be the role for you.

Further details of the requirements and duties of the post can be found on the Role Profile attached. Salary information and a sample shift rota is also attached.

The start dates will be scheduled via intakes from December onwards. Training takes place over 9 weeks at Headquarters, Hutton.

Please note shift allowance is not paid whilst in training and other than the recognised public holidays, candidates will not be permitted leave during this period.
