Lancashire Constabulary’s Organisational Development Team is seeking a Organisational Development Advisor to be based at Hutton Headquarters. The site is accessible by public transport and there is also free car parking on site. This post is temporary until 31st March 2025.

The main purposes of this role are to provide professional OD advice to managers and staff across the constabulary. To plan, implement, coordinate and monitor OD activities and projects. To work with colleagues across other functions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the organisation and make appropriate recommendations to improve service delivery and achieve improvement.

Tasks that may be required in this post are:

  • Provide professional and up to date organisational development advice and guidance to colleagues across the Constabulary, for example in relation to development, learning, succession planning, engagement and wellbeing
  • Gather and analyse qualitative and quantitative information to support OD activities and projects
  • Collate and analyse project findings in order to reach conclusions and make recommendations
  • Produce written reports relating to work carried out and prepare / deliver presentations outlining project findings and recommendations to appropriate audiences e.g. Chief Officers, Governance Boards, Project Control Meetings
  • Use recognised project methodologies to plan, implement, coordinate and monitor agreed OD activities
  • Lead on management and maintenance of one or more OD activities e.g. coaching, mentoring
  • Support the delivery of Constabulary-wide initiatives and identify opportunities for collaboration and innovation
  • Carry out research activity in connection with proposed or on-going projects using the most appropriate methods / techniques
  • Facilitate internal and external communication with staff and stakeholders
