Lancashire Constabulary is pleased to be opening our recruitment window for those candidates interested in joining our force via the Initial Police Learning Development Programme (IPLDP) during 2023/24, this is an exciting opportunity with no requirement for you to currently hold a degree or study for a degree whilst in training.

Joining the IPLDP has no impact on your career within the police, you will still be able to seek promotion in the future should you wish so do not delay, apply now.

This route is a traditional entry route into uniformed policing and is a two year training programme where you will begin your training at the Lancashire Constabulary HQ in Hutton, near Preston. The training includes both classroom-based and practical learning. Upon successful completion of the initial training, you will join an operational policing team where you will continue your learning and development whilst undertaking operational day-to-day police duties.

You will need to hold the following qualification at the time of appointment:

• At least 2 A-Level's or equivalent Level 3 qualification
• Level 2 qualifications (GCSE's) in English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or equivalent

Those candidates with over 12 months experience working as a PCSO, Special Constable, Custody Detention Officer (CDO) or work within the Police Control Room (PCRO) but do not hold the required qualifications, are encouraged to apply with Lancashire Constabulary. As experience will be taken into account, on an individual basis accordingly.
