- S139-20 Custody Detention Officer (LC4)

Lancashire Constabulary is looking to recruit numerous Custody Detention Officers (CDOs), based across the county, as a CDO you will be responsible for assisting in the secure detention, care and welfare of detained persons and their property, in accordance with the powers as detailed in the Police Reform Act 2002, ensuring compliance with the provisions of the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984.

Successful candidates will be expected to travel countywide, therefore a full driving licence is essential. CDOs are also required to work a variety of shifts which include day and night shifts, weekends and bank holidays.

Candidates successful at the application and interview stage will be subject to background checks, including a medical assessment and security vetting.

All successful candidates will be required to undertake a compulsory five week initial training course. The courses are held Monday to Friday at Police Headquarters, Hutton, Preston. After this initial training there is additional operational training and a period of shadowing an experienced custody detention officer in a police custody suite.
