Applicants must hold an NVQ Level 5 or above in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent, and be a current IOSH member with up to date CPD.

Applications are invited for the post of Health and Safety Officer, within the Health and Safety Team within Human Resources based at Hutton Headquarters.

The post-holder will be:

Working across an operational police force and it’s infrastructure to promote a positive safety culture and contribute to an overarching safety management system. Their daily activities will include oversight of risk assessments, accidents, investigations and internal requests for support on matters such as DSE, fire safety and neurodiversity. The post-holder will provide Health and Safety advice to all levels of the organisation and must be a competent OSH professional committed to their own development. Duties will include audit, inspection, analytical work, report writing and will involve some requirement for flexibility.

This is a rare opportunity to make a significant contribution to the health, safety and wellbeing of a large, busy police force which is committed to its communities and victims. The successful candidate will be well supported by their line management and will need to be resilient, accessible and organised in order to succeed.
