Applications are invited for the post of Police Community Support Officer. Vacancies are for posts throughout the County.

The purpose of the role is to provide a uniformed, official presence in an area with the aim of improving the quality of life in the community, making its people feel confident and reassured. Working with partners and community organisations to address anti-social behaviour, the fear of crime, environmental issues and other factors, which affect the quality of people’s lives.

The way we police our communities has changed significantly over recent years and we are keen to recruit resilient individuals with a high level of empathy to meet the demands of modern day policing. We are also keen to hear from people with experience of dealing with vulnerable members of the community.

Applicants must be able to commence training at Headquarters with effect from the 4th December 2017 for 7 weeks. Please note other than the recognised public holidays, candidates will not be permitted leave during this period.
