- Police Community Support Officer (PCSO) - Domestic Abuse Focus 2026

Are you passionate about making a difference in your community? Do you want to be a visible, trusted presence that supports vulnerable individuals and helps reduce harm?

We’re looking for 9 Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) with a specialist focus on supporting victims of Domestic Abuse (DA). This is a unique opportunity to combine the core duties of a PCSO with a dedicated emphasis on safeguarding and empowering those affected by domestic abuse.

Please note:

• This opportunity is only open to current PCSOs.
• Applicants must have successfully completed their probation in their current role.
• Applicants must be fit for independent patrol.
• There will be specialist training which will be mandatory and delivered over multiple days. Further details, including dates and session formats, will be shared once successful candidates have been identified.
• The successful applicants will be based in Preston.
• There will be a shortlisting process, and depending on application numbers, interviews may not be held. In such cases, appointments will be made by management.

These roles are funded by the Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC). Should this funding come to an end, post holders will be given the option to either:

• Remain in their current division and be integrated into the existing structure, or
• Return to their previous (BCU).

About the Role

As a DA PCSO, you’ll provide a uniformed, official presence in the community, working to improve quality of life, reduce fear of crime, and build public confidence. You’ll work closely with partners, community groups, and other agencies to support victims of DA.

In this specialist role, you will also:

• Be a key point of contact for victims of Domestic Abuse, offering reassurance, signposting to support services, and helping them feel safe and heard.
• Build trust with vulnerable individuals and families, ensuring their voices are represented in community safety work.
• Work alongside specialist officers and partner agencies to identify risk, share intelligence, and support early intervention.
• Help raise awareness of domestic abuse within the community and promote access to support.
