Applications are invited for the post of HOLMES Indexer within the HOLMES Team (East) based at Blackburn Town Centre. This post is temporary until 31st July 2024, subject to review.

The purpose of this role is to investigate and detect major crime in Lancashire both on the Holmes and Paper MIR Systems in accordance with MIRSAP. Initiate and manage Holmes databases, provide support and training to staff and develop best practice. Some key responsibilities of this vacancy are:

  • Accurate and efficient use of HOLMES. 
  • To arrange initial incident room preparation and back record conversion. 
  • To be responsible for the maintenance and monitoring of the equipment used in relation to major incidents. 
  • To continually self-develop within the role. 
  • To assist in delivering training needs in relation to HOLMES 
  • To continually strive to develop best practice. 
  • To carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post
