Lancashire Constabulary’s Human Resource Department are seeking to appoint HR Pay Services Assistants to be based at Hutton Headquarters. If you are keen to develop, have an interest in HR and/or Payroll and would like to work as part of a friendly team and make a difference, then this exciting role could be for you. Please note we have a full time opportunity available (37 hours per week), as well as a part time opportunity (32 hours 11 minutes per week). However, we would be willing to consider any part time hours.

About Us
Lancashire Constabulary employ around 6000 Police Officers and Police Staff, the HR Pay Services Team are integral to the smooth running of the force and you will work as part of a team to ensure our hardworking staff are paid correctly and on time.

The Role
The purpose of the role is to deliver a high-quality HR and Payroll service through an individual’s career journey from setting them up as a new starter, processing any changes throughout their career, for example promotions, maternity, adoption, changes in hours, through to their retirement.
The successful candidate would need excellent customer service and communication skills as a large part of the role is dealing with a high volume of emails and phone calls, be able to work to tight monthly deadlines, working both independently and as part of a large team. You will have great attention detail and be able to organise and prioritise your own portfolio of work.

The starting salary is normally at the bottom of the grade, however, there may be an opportunity to commence on a higher salary for exceptional candidates with relevant knowledge or experience, within the salary bandings advertised.

Previous HR and/or Payroll experience would be beneficial, but not essential to apply for this role as on the job training is provided.

As a family, friendly department we will also consider applications from those who are looking to work part time hours, please note the salary will be pro-rata depending on the hours requested. Salary within the advert is based on full-time, 37 hours per week.
