About the role

Lancashire Constabulary Vehicle Maintenance Unit has opportunities for talented individuals to join the team as a Workshop Team Leader.

We are seeking candidates with a passion for developing the people within a team that supports operational policing by servicing, repairing and maintaining fleet vehicles to manufacturers specification, in addition to the installation of all ICT, radio and role equipment. In this role you will manage all aspects of the vehicle maintenance and repair facility, ensuring that all Lancashire Constabulary vehicles and equipment continually exceed the standards of the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency whilst meeting internal and nationally recommended availability targets.

As Workshop Team Leader, you will have responsibility for the development and line management of technical staff providing knowledge, guidance and advice in relation to vehicle maintenance and repair, ensuring the smooth running of the service through effective management. Your time will be spent ensuring that the Workshop and Technician Team runs efficiently and effectively; working to improve the knowledge and skills within the team; monitoring and improving the quality of support and liaising with all fleet users to fully explain vehicle repair and return status.

About you
This role will be ideally suited to experienced, time-served technicians in the motor industry, qualified to NVQ/SVQ Level 3 in Motor Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, COSHH trained and qualified to carry out MOT testing to DVSA standards or willing to work towards both these qualifications within years. You will also be required to hold a full UK driving License with additional and additional requirement to be qualified to drive C1 and D1 category vehicles or willing to work towards and complete within 2 years.
