Lancashire Constabulary’s HQ Operations Division is seeking a Lancashire Resilience Forum (LRF) Communications Coordinator to be based at Hutton Headquarters. The site is accessible by public transport and there is also free car parking on site. This post is temporary until 31st March 2026, potential extension subject to future funding. As a dedicated member of the Secretariat, you will support the Lancashire Resilience Forum (LRF) through the development and delivery of the LRF Communications and Engagement Strategy. In alignment with the LRF Work Programme and horizon scanning, this will involve coordinating multi agency communications activity across LRF groups and managing the LRF digital estate, including website and social media channels. The post holder will be a standing member of the Warning and Informing Group providing a comprehensive proactive and reactive communications service for the LRF. 

This is not a comprehensive list of all the tasks which may be required of the post holder. It is illustrative of the general nature and level of responsibility of the work to be undertaken. 

  • To work as part of the Secretariat team in providing a high level of service to the LRF, including scheduling and supporting meetings and events, monitoring a shared inbox and responding to correspondence in a timely manner, maintaining records and bolstering partner relations and engagement. 
  • To support all LRF Groups with any communications-related requirements including coordination of appropriate communications content across multi agency plans, working with partners to collate content for news articles, case studies, and LRF website pages, and development of relevant, targeted campaigns. This will involve assisting with all forms of media liaison including call handling, arranging and facilitating press briefings, as well as arranging and advising on interview opportunities, and recording all media contact where appropriate. 
  • To support the Warning and Informing Group in all communications planning and support required for the LRF, including meeting preparation, planning for exercises, coordinating key messages and communications materials in support of any incident response, and actioning debrief learning. 
  • To coordinate the development and publication of the LRF Community Risk Register, working across the Risk Assessment Working Group and Warning and Informing Group to produce an engaging public-facing product. 
  • To work closely with colleagues across the Warning and Informing network to maximise the potential of all communications activity through effective teamwork, including the areas of internal communications, campaigns and digital. 
  • To maintain the LRF website and digital estate, including In The Know and social media channels, ensuring content is regularly updated, reviewing analytics to inform continuous development, and building an engaged audience across our communities and businesses.   
  • To support the quarterly publication of the LRF Newsletter by coordinating and collating engaging content from multi agency partners. 
  • Demonstrate a strong personal commitment to delivering and achieving value for money, whilst providing high quality of service. 
  • To promote and comply with Lancashire Constabulary's obligations under the Equality Act 2010 and Health & Safety, both in the delivery of service and the treatments of others. 
  • Take responsibility for improving your performance by participating in the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) process with your manager. 
  • To carry out any other duties which are consistent with the nature, responsibilities and grading of the post
